• Ketoconazole Otic

  Ketoconazole otic is an antifungal used in the treatment of external ear infections (otitis externa) caused by yeast in cats, dogs, and other animals. Ketoconazole otic comes in ointment or liquid drop suspension forms that may be specially compounded and/or combined into a formulation with other medications.

• Ketoconazole Topical

  Ketoconazole topical is an antifungal used in the treatment of skin infections caused by fungal organisms in cats, dogs, and other animals. It comes in a variety of forms that may be specially compounded and/or be combined with other medications.

• Leflunomide

  Leflunomide is an immunomodulating agent used to treat certain immune-mediated conditions in cats and dogs. It is used off label (extra label) in veterinary medicine. Leflunomide comes in a tablet form that may be specially compounded into a liquid. Wear gloves when handling and do not handle if pregnant or nursing.

• Lorazepam

  Lorazepam is given by mouth or injection and is used off label to treat behavioral disorders such as fears, phobias, and anxiety, as well as to treat seizures and to stimulate appetite in cats. Common side effects include sleepiness, muscle weakness, incoordination, increased appetite (cats), drooling, aggressive or unusual behavior, increased activity or anxiety, and vocalization. Do not use in pets that are allergic to it or other benzodiazepines, or that have severe breathing problems or liver disease. If a negative reaction occurs, please call your veterinary office.

• Lotilaner

  Lotilaner is used to treat and prevent flea infestations and treat and control tick infestations in dogs and cats. After being administered to a pet, lotilaner is distributed throughout the body. When fleas or ticks bite the dog or cat, they are exposed to the drug and killed during their blood meal.

• Low Molecular Weight Heparin

  Low molecular weight heparin is given by injection under the skin and is used off label to treat abnormal blood clots. Give as directed. Side effects may include pain at the injection site. Do not use in pets that are allergic to any type of heparin or pork products. If a negative reaction occurs, call the veterinary office.

• Meclizine

  Meclizine is used off label and given by mouth in the form of a tablet to treat and prevent motion sickness and vomiting in dogs, cats, and small mammals. The most common side effect is sedation and sleepiness. Do not use in pets that are allergic to it. It should be used with caution in pets with concurrent prostate enlargement, bladder obstruction, heart failure, certain types glaucoma, or certain gastrointestinal obstructions. If a negative reaction occurs, please call your veterinary office.

• Melatonin

  Melatonin is given by mouth or as an implant under the skin and is used to treat sleep and behavior disorders, adrenal disease, and non-allergic hair loss, to suppress the heat cycle, and to improve breeding rates. Give as directed. Side effects are not common but may include sleepiness. Do not use in pets that are allergic to it. If a negative reaction occurs, please call your veterinary office.

• Methazolamide

  Methazolamide is given by mouth and is used off label to treat open angle glaucoma. Common side effects include vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite, sleepiness, disorientation, or excitement. Do not use in pets that are allergic to it, have significant liver, kidney, or adrenal disease, have electrolyte imbalances, have severe obstructive lung disease, or have closed angle glaucoma. If a negative reaction occurs, please call your veterinary office.

• Miconazole Otic
